Prospective students

o-studiu Faculty of Science offers a „structured study“, which means that the study is divided into three fundamental stages. The first one is a three-year bachelor’s study programme (BSc.), which can be followed by a two-year master’s study programme (MSc.). Majority of the students leave Palacky University with master’s degree but there is still a possibility to continue in a doctor’s study programme (Ph.D.) of either presence or combined study. The masters’ graduates have also an option to pass a state rigorous examination and obtain a degree used only in the Czech environment – "RNDr." (detailed information can be consulted at Rigorous Regulations at Faculty of Science). The Department of physical chemistry guarantees accredited study programmes on all study levels – bachelor’s (Applied chemistry, Nanomaterial chemistry), master’s (Physical chemistry, Material chemistry) and doctor’s (Physical chemistry). The Department has also received accreditation for habilitation (associate professor) and professor procedures in the field of physical chemistry. The Department of physical chemistry offers research opportunities for all the students of chemistry and their participation in projects of the Department, which are aimed on nanomaterials and biomolecules. It can be done as a part of their bachelor’s papers, master’s theses and dissertation theses or throughout different kinds of projects. The Department of physical chemistry is the most productive chemical department at Palacky University in Olomouc (according to the evaluation using methodology of The Research and Development Council in the years 2005 – 2009 and later). Even more, the Department of physical chemistry at Palacký University is the most productive department of physical chemistry in the Czech Republic. Since 2010 we are also members of research centre aimed on the development and application of nanomaterials and nanotechnologies – Regional Centre of Advanced Technologies and Materials (RCPTM). If you are interested in work at the Department of physical chemistry, please, feel free to contact the supervisors or the head of the Department. Further information, concerning the study at the Department of physical chemistry, can be obtained from the web pages of Faculty of Science, Palacky University in Olomouc or thanks to the Study Agenda system (STAG).
